Structure

The annual instrument should not simply ask every item in the database. Recommended composition:

  • 18–24 stable core anchors
  • 8–16 role or domain module items
  • 3–6 active PDP and sustainability items
  • 3–5 qualitative prompts
  • role-priority ratings and top-three impact selection

Stable core dimensions

  1. Vision and direction
  2. Strategy and judgment
  3. Customer and product value
  4. Execution and accountability
  5. Change and adaptability
  6. Feedback and growth mindset
  7. Emotional intelligence and conflict
  8. Psychological safety and inclusion
  9. Talent, succession, and autonomy
  10. Sustainable performance
  11. Global and cross-functional leadership
  12. Innovation, AI, and responsible technology

Each dimension should normally have two items. Avoid using five or six near-duplicate questions merely to increase apparent precision.

Role modules

Examples:

  • Engineering leadership
  • Product leadership
  • Customer/account leadership
  • Operations and delivery leadership
  • Data and AI leadership
  • Security and resilience leadership
  • Executive enterprise leadership

Thomas-compatible export option

A customer that needs continuity may choose:

  • 1–7 scale
  • self, manager, peer, team/direct report, customer groups
  • competency averages
  • self-versus-others gaps
  • top and bottom items
  • role-priority comparison
  • qualitative comments
  • PDP handoff

The internal model still preserves question-family lineage and relationship-specific variants.

Qualitative prompts

  1. What behavior from this person creates disproportionate value and should be protected?
  2. What one behavior would most improve their impact during the next six months?
  3. What behavior should they stop or reduce because it creates friction, dependency, or risk?
  4. What important customer, technical, organizational, or people risk do they currently underweight?
  5. Describe one recent situation that best illustrates your feedback.
